  1. Mary told me at recess that she didn’t feel good. I was afraid that meant she was going to throw up. I kept watching her in class all the time. She got more and more pale. I was doing spelling, but it was too hard with her there. Then she threw up on the floor. I ran out the door and my teacher found me crying in the hall.

2. We went to church and it was really hot. Lots of people came, so it was crowded in the church pews. I don’t like sitting in the middle. I kept looking at all the doors in case I was going to run out. It would be hard because I was in the middle. We stood up to sing and I heard some people kind of moan. Someone barfed a few rows over. I hid in my mom’s arm. I was so scared.

3. I woke up this morning with a stomach ache. It hurt really bad. Sometimes I feel sick and it doesn’t hurt this bad. I was really scared. I asked my mom if I would be sick and she said no. She told me to get dressed and eat breakfast. Yuck! I did not want to eat anything. I went to the kitchen and started to smell toast and peanut butter. It made me feel really gross. Then I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet. I started to cry but my mom said I would be fine. It’s true. It was over now. My stomach felt better.

4. I was fast asleep and I woke up and puked all over my bed. I was screaming and my parents ran into my room. “Oh no” said my dad. Then he said, “It’s ok. I will wash your bedding.” Mom told me to get in the shower. When I went in the bathroom I suddenly really had to go. It was poop like water. I felt hot and really sick. Mom put me in the shower, then got me clean pajamas and my dad changed my bed. Mom stayed with me that night on the floor. She told me to throw up in the bowl. I did. A lot of times. And I went to the bathroom a lot. But the next night I felt pretty good and I got two days off school! It was yucky but it was over quickly and wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I got popsicles and Gatorade the next day.
